Old Home Week

Billed as PEI’s Family Fun Fair, Old Home Week is an annual celebration of the Island’s agricultural roots. Livestock shows, competitions, cooking demonstrations, the Gold Cup & Saucer Parade (Aug 18) and harness racing at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino are just a few highlights of this beloved exhibition. Kensington Harvest Festival

PEI Provincial Plowing Match and Agricultural Fair

Outstanding in the Field

Outstanding in the Field events, now hosted worldwide, are memorable for so many reasons, not the least of which are the creative local cuisine and remarkable settings. Both come to play on PEI on Saturday, Aug 26 on a sloping potato field overlooking the Northumberland Strait, where chef Emily Wells will prepare a divine meal sourcing from the land and sea.

Fall Flavours Festival
Sept 1 – Oct 1, Island-wide
Tickets are now on sale for the month-long, Island-wide culinary festival. This year’s festival features returning Food Network favourites Chuck Hughes, Lynn Crawford, Mark McEwan, Vikram Vij, Corbin Tomaszeski, and PEI’s own Michael Smith, as well as new celebrity chefs David Rocco and Danny Smiles. PEI International Shellfish Festival

Congratulations to Best of Sea’s 2017 Chic Chef of the Year, Javier Alarco, of Water’s Edge Resto|Bar|Grill. Alarco will represent PEI in the All-Canadian Garland Canada International Chef Challenge taking place at the PEI International Shellfish Festival. Other festival activities include the PEI Potato Chowder Competition, the Tie One on PEI Mussel Competition, an attempt at creating the “World’s Longest Lobster Roll”, and culinary demonstrations by the Festival’s host, celebrity chef Lynn Crawford.
