Heart & Stroke, in partnership with Recreation PEI and the Department of Health and Wellness, will host a half day workshop called “Life’s a Lunchbox; You Get What You Put Into It”: Supporting Healthy Food Environments.

The workshop is open to individuals who, through their work with children and youth, are well-positioned to influence the availability of healthy food options. This includes recreation facility managers, High 5 trainers, after-school program leaders, March break and summer camp leaders, and sport association board members.

We will also explore successful strategies adopted by other centres and municipalities to sell, promote and provide healthier food and beverage choices and discuss how Heart & Stroke and other like-minded organizations can help facilitate these changes.

Workshop is free of charge, a morning snack and lunch will be provided. Register with Sarah Crozier at Heart & Stroke, (902) 892-7441 ext. 1202, or sarah.crozier@heartandstroke.ca
