An Icelandic Evening

January 29, 2018 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Benevolent Irish Society
582 North River Road

The Vinland Society of Prince Edward Island celebrates PEI’s links to the world of Vikings who may have visited or briefly colonized PEI 1000 years ago and to the descendants of Vikings — particularly those who inhabit Iceland.

Society Board members Sigga MacEachern and Dr. Megan Macdonald will share stories and recipes of traditional Icelandic delicacies such as boiled ram testicles, liver pudding, and wind-dried fish. Gaelic and folklore scholar Dr. Tiber Falzett will speak on Icelandic traditional music. There will be information and commentaries on travel opportunities in Iceland. To round out the evening, folks who have had the opportunity to visit Iceland are invited to tell their stories of intriguing discoveries and unexpected adventures.
